Rusty
Name:
Rusty
Nicknames:
Rust, Big Guy, The Protector
Gender:
Male
Breed:
Lab Mix
Personality:
Rusty is a street-wise dog living in New York City. He's grown accustomed to the loud noises and become quite clever when it comes to getting food and avoiding the dog catcher. He's actually quite a legend to the other dogs in the city, so he has grown a tad arrogant. He's not afraid in the least of other dogs; although he doesn't like having too much company. He would never join a pack because there are "too many rules." When posed with a threat Rusty acts bravely; thinking before he acts, and believe me, he's gotten in to lots of trouble in his days. Around female dogs he's quite the flirty boy, and he has a reason to be. The ladies love him!
At two years old, Rusty met someone that would change his life. He was on one of his daily rounds through the city when he ran in to a light blue mutt scavenging in the dumpster. She was feisty and yet kind to him, and he took a liking to her. They met up again and became quite close friends. Eventually, they decided to travel together. After being friends for a while, they became mates. Now they have one litter of three pups, Sage, Poppy, and Hawthorn. Rusty is a great dad and he loves his pups to death.
Background:
Rusty had a typical city pup-hood. He and his littermates were abandoned in a box reading "Free Puppies" and only a few were taken. The rest, including Rusty, were left to fend for themselves. They were quickly separated and forced to grow up more quickly than the average pup. At the ripe age of six months old, he met a rag-tag group of three dogs, "The Band." Charcoal; the leader, Floss; the hunter, and Cosey; the navigator. They trained him how to survive in the big city and they became good friends. After a year of sticking with the three Rusty and The Band parted ways, but they kept in touch and often ran in to each other. After a few days on his own, Rusty ran in to a large pack of aggressive dogs. Luckily, Charcoal taught him how to fight. He was attacked by the leader but bravely fought him off; although he didn't get out without a nasty scar across his eye. From then on, Rusty swore to never join a pack but rather protect the city's strays. He is respected by the dogs of New York and often referred to as "The Protector" by young pups.
